SEMIFINALS PREVIEW

Eric (W) – 143.64
Justin (L) – 110.40

Justin’s team started super hot with 3 TDs in about the first 15 minutes of football (2 by Jared Cook), but cooled off significantly, concluding in an anti-climatically bad performance by Russ. My team exploded. Jameis threw for 450+, 4TDs and rushed for an extra for good measure. Mike Thomas was Mike Thomas (although not until fairly late). Pitt D was all over Kyler and Diontae Johnson returned a TD too. The only blemish was when I accidentally forgot to play a second flex. Oh I didn’t? I actually played Sony Michel? Oh ok. Couldn’t tell from the score.

Jeff (W) – 119.54
Dad (L) – 104.70

Jeff had a pretty bad week actually but it was masked by phenomenal performances by Hopkins and Ekeler combining for a whopping 52 points. Had a conversation with Jeff recently where he essentially told me he doesn’t really like or trust Ekeler. Maybe this one earned him some trust? Hopkins started the year slow but hasn’t put up single digits since week 4. The man is consistency incarnate. Dad didn’t have a terrible week but he had no WOW performances from anyone except for Zeke. Jeff’s one extra WOW performance won him this one.

Congrats to both Dad and Justin. You both had teams that I feared and I’m glad I don’t have to play you guys again.

(1) Dave
(4) Jeff

Dave’s top 3 guys to fear:

Deshaun Watson – HUGE division game. Watson is a competitor and will do anything to win including throwing touchdowns with his eyeball hanging out. If you think Watson is gonna throw up a dud with the division on the line, think again.
Derrick Henry – I fucking hate this guy. I feel like I played him about every week this year and I get killed by him every time. Watching him run is insane, defenders legitimately looks scared to tackle him because he’s so big and powerful. Also, his stats since Week 9? Decent…

Davante Adams – Another big time competitor with a (surprisingly) hot division rival. It also just feels like he is due for like a 15 catch game.

Jeff’s top 3 guys to fear:

DeAndre Hopkins – Who is going to stop Nuk on the Titans? Every time Watson chucks it up Dave is going to close his eyes and pray it’s not to Hopkins. I got bad news for ya – it’s always going to be him.
Mark Ingram – I predict Jeff gets out to a huge lead on the back of 2-3 Mark Ingram TDs on Thursday. It just feels like an Ingram game, it feels like he is due for some TDs, and I’m pretty sure Jamal Adams is even out this week. I’m predicting 25-30 for him this week.
Courtland Sutton – This one may seem a little weird but it makes sense. Sutton has quietly looked great this year, they will be down the entire game against the Chiefs, the Chiefs D sucks, and Drew Lock surprisingly showed himself to be competent last week. I can see a big game from the 2nd-year WR this week.

(2) Rambo
(3) Eric

Rambo’s top 3 guys to fear:

Christian McCaffrey – Duh. The #1 fantasy football stud is a guy to fear. Shocking. He averages over 5 points per game more than Dalvin Cook who is the #2 fantasy RB. Gross. Have mercy on me – please only score a modest 20 this week.
Julian Edelman – Literally the only target Brady has and he’s facing the Bengals. He’s going to feast.
Ryan Tannehill – If I had a time machine at the start of the season I certainly wouldn’t have predicted this one but don’t laugh. Tannehill has been LEGIT. QBs with huge nuts that rush for multiple TDs per game are exactly what you want out of a fantasy QB. Rambo was patient all year, streamed week in and week out and finally found his guy. Feel free to play Brady.

My top 3 guys to fear:

Michael Thomas – Can’t guard Mike. He averages 9.31 catches per game. He averages 109.54 yards per game. He also has a modest 7 TDs. The easy #1 fantasy WR ate the unstoppable San Fran defense for breakfast. He gets Indy on Monday night. How high of a point cushion will Rambo need to be comfortable going into Monday night? 50? I don’t think 40 is out of his range of possibilities. One thing is certain. Monday isn’t going to be enjoyable for Rambo.
Dalvin Cook – Hasn’t had a single digit game all year. Even CMC can’t boast that. Know what else? Dalvin is DUE. I can feel it in my bones. A 30 pointer is coming.
Sony Michel Jameis Winston – Does Jameis have a hairline fracture in his hand? Yes. Did he have it in the 2nd half of last week’s game? Also yes. Jameis is coming off of an almost 40 point week and now he gets a juicy Detroit matchup? Sign me up.

We’ve got 2 exciting battles this week, can’t wait!

-Eric
