2020 RULE CHANGES

Welcome back to what will no doubt be a wacky year. Ryan has dropped from the league, leaving a vacancy that will be filled by my friend Matt Teitelbaum. Matt is a good dude besides being an Eagles fan. He is as football-obsessed as the rest of us if not more (ask to see his NFL Draft spreadsheets) and I’m excited as I think he will be a great, active addition. If he wins the league, he’s gone and we will find someone new next year.

I have a couple of COVID-related items to discuss:

IR Spots:
With the current climate of uncertainty, it seemed wise to add TWO IR spots this year. The idea of someone having to drop a star player because of COVID doesn’t sound very fun. I can’t imagine anyone will have an issue with this change.

Real-Life Cancellations (SNF / MNF):
It is unfortunately well within the range of outcomes that a Monday Night Football or Sunday Night Football game will be cancelled this year. I have thought about this and I am not going to be doing anything about it. I have read and discussed proposed methods to accommodate for this such as declaring weekly alternates or going with what their projected score would have been but I don’t really like anything I have come across for various reasons. So be mindful that if you lose due to a cancellation, tough shit, it could have happened to anyone. (unless it happens to me and I will bitch about it in the recap)

Payout Scenarios:
It is also very possible that the season will be cancelled at some point this year. So what happens? See below:
($50 x 12 = $600 in the pool)
-If the season ends before the conclusion of Week 13, everyone gets their money back regardless of record ($50).
-If the season ends before the conclusion of Week 14, the prize will be divided among the 6 playoff contenders ($100 each).
-If the season ends before the conclusion of Week 15, the prize will be divided among the 4 remaining playoff entries ($150 each)
-If the season ends before the conclusion of Week 16, 1st and 2nd prize will be divided among the 2 finalists ($262.50 each) and 3rd prize will be divided among the consolation contenders ($37.50 each).
-If we make it through, we stick to the normal $375/$150/$75 payout.

That is pretty much it. The draft will take place on Sunday 9/6 at 8:00PM EST. Please pay me your dues ($50) ASAP (Venmo: @Eric-Held) Let me know if you have any questions.

-Eric
